In April of 1971, John Kerry testified before Congress and accused American soldiers of horrific war crimes. Referring to an investigation that was conducted just a few months earlier, he stated:
“They (veterans) told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.”
The problem with his entire testimony is that it was a complete and total radical leftist propaganda lie. From January 31 to February 2, 1971, members of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) were questioned and testified in the “Hanoi” Jane Fonda funded Winter Soldier Investigation (WSI). Radical leftists fresh from meetings with top representatives from North Vietnam and the Vietcong conducted the investigation. Veterans who were genuinely opposed to the war were manipulated by leftist psychoanalysts and psychiatrists who convinced them that revealing their “crimes” would help end the war.
When John Kerry ran for president in 2004, veterans who served with him spoke out, questioning his ability to lead our country and the truthfulness of his military accomplishments. In 2005, Scott Swett and Tim Ziegler decided to delve further into Kerry’s Vietnam past and revealed in their book To Set The Record Straight: How Swift Boat Veterans, POWs and the New Media Defeated John Kerry what they discovered.
Due to the testimony at the WSI, the Army’s Criminal Investigative Division (CID) opened 43 cases that qualified as “crimes”. During the CID investigations, several of the witnesses retreated significantly from their original allegations during the WSI. Some admitted their allegations were hearsay and didn’t actually witness anything. Others confessed their accusations of cold-blooded murder of innocent civilians was actually self defense or attempts to take out enemy combatants, not civilians. No criminal charges were ever filed to any of cases.
The conclusion is John Kerry used coerced confessions of VVAW members by leftist political propagandists to go before Congress and lie about war crimes his fellow soldiers did not commit. His efforts directly resulted in the American people turning on their own heroes, spiting on them, cursing them and calling them baby killers when they returned to the states after their tour of duty.
So why does this matter? Why bring this up now?
Because on March 17th, now Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to reveal to the world whether America will designate the Christian massacres by ISIS as genocide or not. President Obama and Kerry are dragging their feet and trying desperately to avoid criticizing ISIS for their horrific acts against Christians. Kerry had no videos, no supporting evidence and really no honest witnesses to the crimes he accused our veterans of, but he can’t claim genocide with ISIS despite the overwhelming proof. ISIS proudly released their own video of beheading 21 Coptic (Egyptian) Christians. ISIS celebrated as they drowned several Christians in a cage while the martyrs sang hymns. A Christian Jordanian pilot was burned alive in a cage but ISIS eased our hearts by reassuring us he felt no pain as they heavily sedated him. How comforting. ISIS is even crucifying and beheading children. I could go on and Kerry has yet to admit this a purposeful attempt to eradicate all Christians in the Middle East.
The man who single-handedly turned our brave soldiers into presumed malicious murderers in the 1970’s on a pack of lies and radical bullcrap apparently doesn’t have the manhood to call real atrocities for what that are. It is a disgrace to Christians, it is a disgrace to our country, and it is a disgrace to mankind everywhere. What kind of man falsely accuses soldiers of savage cruelty to innocent Vietnamese but can’t bring himself to declare ISIS is committing genocide against Christians with overwhelming evidence?
We might find some insight in Swett and Ziegler’s other discovery. The radical American anti-Vietnam War movement was put into motion in 1969 at a conference led by the KGB. American attendees formed the ”Citizens Commission of Inquiry into US War Crimes in Indochina” (CCI). As with the VVAW, the CCI was supported and financed by communist and socialist groups. Kerry and the CCI worked with communists to shame America into withdrawing from South Vietnam and their fight against communism.
Kerry and the Obama Administration are continuing their same old political games from 40 years ago. They cannot call ISIS “radical Islam”. They welcome the Muslim Brotherhood into the White House, negotiate with Iran and denounce Israel for defending themselves against terrorists. America, we are being duped again.
I have no faith this weak-kneed, agenda driven administration will do what is morally correct, even if they do declare it genocide. We, as Americans, will have to do what our government refuses to do. The right thing.
