A report from Pew research confirms that the number of Illegal Immigrants Criminally Trespassing Aliens is once again on the the rise, edging up from 11.3 million in 2009 to 11.7 million last year (note in the graph below the term unauthorized immigrant means a person who committed a crime by the act of coming into this country–otherwise the would call murderers-unauthorized life takers).

According to Pew, the 2009 number was low because of a combination of the poor economy and increased U.S. border apprehensions.

What Pew doesn’t point out is that since the Obama Presidency those numbers have begun to rise.

According to Pew its the economic turn around causing the numbers to go up.

“As a whole, with the recession ending, the decrease in illegal
immigration has stopped,” said Jeffrey Passel, a senior demographer at
Pew.

Pew doesn’t explain what economic turn around they are talking about.

I would like to suggest a different theory. Illegal Immigrants (sorry I know they hate that term) Criminally Trespassing Aliens have become a protected minority during the Obama administration. State Government who try to deflect the horde of people crossing the border have been sued by the DOJ, and according to the ICE union this administration is not enforcing the laws.  Other states have made themselves more welcoming to Criminal Trespassers offering them college breaks and driver’s licenses despite the fact that their mere presence in the United States is a crime.  Those factors probably contribute more to the increase of criminal trespassers than the economic non-turnaround.

These number reflect the Pew Research estimates through March 2012.  The Senate’s Gang of Eight Bill and the recent rash of pseudo-political refugees from Mexico lead one to believe the next time this study is done the number of Criminal Trespassers will be much larger.
