Today is a Jewish fast day, the 10th of Tevet. 2,500 years ago today, Nebuchadnezzar began his siege of Jerusalem. It is a sad remembrance. Interestingly enough all the Babylonians did that day was encircle the city. There were no battles no deaths. Nothing was destroyed. So why do we fast, why the sadness?
On the 10th day of Tevet there was still time to save Jerusalem, still time to save Solomon’s Temple. God was sending the Jews a telegram, “Act Now, or lose Jerusalem, lose the Temple” The Jewish people didn’t hear God’s message, they did not act and all was lost.

If you listen hard you will hear the same message today. We have lost Jerusalem twice via war, now we have a government in Israel that wants to give it away. Do not think that because much of the protests have died down the threat has gone away. Just like 2,500 years ago, Jerusalem has not been destroyed it is still the heart of our people. But Just like 2,500 years ago we need to act or we will lose Jerusalem and what is left of the Temple.

Folks a few weeks ago, I asked you to make a free call to protest any plans to give away our one holy city. The System is still up. If you haven’t called, there is no better way to remember what happened on the 10th of Tevet 2,500 years ago–than making a call today. The info is below:
